Central Trains, owned by the National Express Group, was one of the original 25 train operating companies to emerge from the break-up of British Rail between 1994 and 1997.
Created out of the Central division of BR’s Regional Railways, Central Trains operated local, urban and secondary express services across central England and Mid Wales between 2nd March 1997 and 11th November 2007, when its services were dispersed amongst London Midland, East Midlands Trains and Cross Country.
