50049 stalled on the ascent of Beasdale bank and required assistance from 50031 on the rear of the train. This caused a further delay to the railtour and 50049 is about 45 minutes late as it heads 1Z23 1020 Fort William-Mallaig round the curve at Kinloid on 05/03/2005. At this point the loco had just worked further west than it ever did whilst operating on the Western Region to Penzance, Arisaig being the westernmost railway station in the British Isles.
