60096 had plenty of china clay empties in tow when pictured at Washwood Heath on 21/03/2002 hauling 6V70 0858 Cliff Vale-St Blazey SS.

For three weeks during April 2002 the empty oil tanks from Bedworth to both Lindsey & Port Clarence oil refineries were routed via Coventry, Rugby (run round) and then Nuneaton due to vehicles damaged in a derailment during the first week of April being dumped in the run round loop at Hawkesbury Lane whilst they awaited 'roading out' for repair. Here 60089 is pictured at Cathiron in charge of 6E70 1658 Bedworth Murco Sdgs-Port Clarence on 19/04/2002. This was the third attempt at photographing one of the diverted services at this location and was the only one I managed in sun. Services had reverted to their usual route a week later.
