58036 traverses the ex Midland Railway Clowne Branch approaching Oxcroft Colliery Branch Junction whilst running light loco from Shirebrook TMD to Barrow Hill TMD on 19/11/1992. By this time light locomotives were pretty much the only through traffic on this section of line from Cresswell Jnct to Seymour Jnct.
In the mid 1990's a serious underground fire that proved difficult to control threatened to undermine the line. This, coupled with the expensive requirement to replace the points connecting the branch at Creswell Jnct would lead to the closure of the line. The points at Cresswell Jnct were relaced with plain line, as were those at Oxcroft Colliery Junction. With track now lifted the trackbed has become the Clowne Branch Greenway, a traffic free cycling and walking route.
