55022 'Royal Scots Grey' runs alongside the River Esk as it passes under Larpool Viaduct, Whitby whilst working 1Z53 1355 Whitby-Battersby Junction on 20/09/2009. The 13 arch viaduct carried the Whitby-Scarborough railway line 120ft above the river below from 1885 until Dr Beeching's axe fell and the railway closed in 1965.
