47770 arrives at Nuneaton with a Wolverhampton-London Euston service on 13/07/2002. The train is passing the former Ashby Bay at Nuneatons northern end, this is no longer in existance as platform 5 has been lengthened over the former trackbed.
The next two photographs show the end of loco hauled Virgin Cross Country services. As can be seen, there was a good turn out at Nuneaton to see 47840+47847 off.
The next day saw the pair return north. However whilst at Penzance, depot staff renumbered 47840 to 47077 for the day. Here 47077 (47840) leads 47847 at Pirton Crossing.
