It would however not reach Inverness due to the failure of 26035 working 2K08 1045 Inverness-Kyle of Lochalsh at Achnasheen with a hot axle box. 37025 was detached from 2N20 at Achnasheen and replaced the ailing 26035 and duly returned to Kyle of Lochalsh on 2K08. Passengers for Inverness had to wait for two hours at Achnasheen until 37183 arrived from Inverness to rescue 2N20.

37183 is attached to 2N20 1110 Kyle of Lochalsh-Inverness at Achnasheen on 25/07/1983, after arriving from Inverness TMD. 26035 had earlier failed whilst working 2K08 1045 Inverness-Kyle of Lochalsh. 37025 was commandeered from 2N20 and worked 26035's train forward to Kyle of Lochalsh leaving 2N20 without a locomotive.
