Welcome to "The Iron Road"

The site is still very much under construction. As such, pages may alter in appearance from time to time and some links may not work.

This website will aim to illustrate the railways of Britain and Overseas as I have viewed them through my camera over the last thirty odd years.

Many of the early shots were taken in and around railway stations, as during the mid 1980's I was still very much a "haulage crank" or "basher".
As the classic traction that I followed was withdrawn, my interest changed to photography, primarily photographing trains in the landscape along some of Britain's most scenic lines.
Over the years I have managed to "cross off" many a location, but still the list is long, and these days there is less and less to go at, so I am certain that the list will not be exhausted any time soon.

In time all images will be uploaded at 1200x800 pixels, so viewing in full screen mode is recommended (use F11).

Please bear with me whilst the site is re-built after the transfer from Fotopic. In the mean time I hope you enjoy your visit.
